I don’t usually rant here on my blog, but today I’m making an exception.

I’ve never been a big fan of Paul McCartney (I always thought Lennon was the genius behind the Beatles), but now I have a legitimate reason for my dislike. It seems that Paul recently fired some of his road crew because he caught them eating hamburgers. For those of you who don’t know, Paul is a serious, committed Vegan — which is fine. I have no problem with his dietary choices (although I think he’s missing out some tasty vittles!). I DO have a problem with him trying to force his views on others. It is interesting how sometimes those who claim to be so open-minded and tolerant, are actually just the opposite.
It is somewhat ironic….. Paul appeared in an episode of The Simpsons called “Lisa The Vegetarian.” Here is an exchange between Lisa, Apu, and Paul:
Lisa: You don’t eat cheese, Apu?
Apu: No I don’t eat any food that comes from an animal.
Lisa: Ohh, then you must think I’m a monster!
Apu: Yes indeed I do think that. But I learned a long time ago Lisa to tolerate others rather than forcing my beliefs on them. You know, you can influence people without badgering them always. It’s like Paul’s song, “Live and let live.”
Paul: Actually, it was “Live and Let Die.”
Apu: Well, whatever, whatever. It had a good rhythm.

I think Paul needs to listen to Apu.
Ted Nugent has a great column addressing this very thing. Read it HERE.
