The Family That Runs Together…..

My family and I competed in the BalloonFest 5K here in Ashland today. The picture above is all of us before the race (we’ll spare you the after photos). It was the first race for my wife and daughter. My wife says it is also her last! But my daughter did great — she won the 10 and under age group with a time of 30:34. My son beat us all (he’s already doing voluntary practices for Cross Country, so we expected him to do well).

The picture below is of a man who ran the entire race barefoot! It was incredible — I just had to take his picture. It looked painful to me, but he looked like he did it all the time. I guess he doesn’t have to bother with the endless search for the perfect running shoe.
