My family and I ran the Bayshore 10K in Traverse City, Michigan over the weekend. We had a great time (though somewhat painful for me, as I am very much out of shape). Including our friends, there were 8 of us who either ran or walked the 10K. My son Eli beat everyone with a time of 51:15. Our friend Rick was next with a time of 55:26, and his son Eric was third with a time of 1 hour and 1 minute. My daughter Emma was next with a time of 1 hour and 7 minutes. Then I came in with a time of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Emma ran with me for most of the race, but after 5 miles, I told her she didn’t have to wait for me anymore, and she went on to the finish. My wife, our friend Jan and her daughter Heather walked the course.
We had a great weekend camping in Traverse City with our good friends, the Sims. We also got to see some friends we hadn’t seen in quite a while — Gerry and Renee. Gerry ran the Marathon and Renee ran the half-marathon.
Good times. Good times.

Love the idea. I just can’t seem to get my wife to run with me. Looks like a ton of fun. Keep it up.
This is a great post, Jeff, about your family doing all of these things together. Thanks for sharing y’all’s successes in the run and for the great picture.
Sounds like lots of fun!

Great post brother.
Cherish the memories now.
That is my advice.
It is what I am trying to do with my family. Cherish everything we do. Memories that will last a lifetime.
