Justin Verlander threw a no-hitter for the Tigers tonight. He was throwing 100 m.p.h. pitches in the 9th inning! His teammates helped him out with some amazing plays in the field (that double play in the 8th inning will be remembered for a long time). This is the first no-hitter for the Tigers since 1984, and the first one ever in Comerica Park in Detroit.
Oh, and the Tigers moved into a tie for first place in the American League Central Division (they were 2 1/2 games out just a few days ago).
Go Tigers!

My Cards aren’t doing as well as your Tigers. Oh well, there is plenty of season left.
Ain’t baseball great?
DU
Yes it is, DU.
With the Tigers having so many losing seasons, I had almost forgotten. But the last 16 months have renewed my love for the game.
The best thing in the world is for your team to be on top of their game. I vaguely remember those times….
Enjoy!!
Had Verlander on my fantasy team last year. He is a MAN when it comes to baseball. I did enjoy seeing the end of the game on ESPN.
Only got to see the highlights..boohoo. Going to Atlanta to see the Tigers next weekend! Detroit NEEDS this!
We love our Tigers! I don’t get to go see another game until 6/30, but a lot of us will go then. Our church has “day at the game” days for the Tigers and a nighttime version for the Pistons. It’s cool to sit with so many Christians…although the beer sales dip somewhat when we arrive!(not so sure what they would be if we all sat in separate sections…)
