Great story, Rev. Slater!
Praise the Lord! These have to be exciting times for you and the Ashland congregation. I pray that the transition goes as smoothly as possible. -bill
Next time, get them to put “The Most Reverend, Jeff Slater.”
Your old building is one of those cookie cutter CoCs built during the 1960s. There must be a couple of thousand of those scattered across this great land.
The whole “Reverend” thing is pretty funny. I’m sure I’ll get some ribbing at church tomorrow. I don’t mind being called ‘Pastor”, but it seems to me that only God should be revered.
Mike — Yes, that is one of those “cookie-cutter” buildings. Back in about 1960, they got plans from some firm in Texas, and they built it themselves.
Congrats, Jeff! Great article. It’s good to see you and your work make such progress.
I also saw your name and a blurb in the Christian Chronicle, the February issue of which I just saw yesterday. You get around pretty good for an old guy.
