My wife and I had the opportunity to see Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band in concert last Saturday night in Cincinnati. What a great show! At 61 years old, Seger is still a terrific performer. My wife is not a big fan of concerts, but she really enjoyed this one. The show was better than I expected (and I had high expectations for it), although I would have made a few changes to the set list. I could have done without “Betty Lou’s Getting Out Tonight,” and I wish he would have done “The Fire Inside” and “American Storm.” But I’m not complaining. It was an awesome show! The last encore was fantastic — “Against the Wind” and “Rock & Roll Never Forgets.” Talk about ending on a high note!
I usually chuckle when I hear someone speak of the “greatness” of a relatively new artist. Let’s wait and see. If they are still writing and performing great songs 40 years later, then perhaps we can talk about their “greatness.” By the way, I would highly recommend Seger’s latest CD. I think it’s his best work since the early 80′s.

I am glad you had a great time Don and Jimmy both did wonderful jobs while you were gone. Bob is great for tose of us who don’t listen to him that often we forget how many great songs he does have. Got to spend allot of time with church family this weekend boy do we have a wonderful loving family at Steeele Ave. The excitment that’s building there not just for our new building but also our new visions of ministry are starting to get so electrifing. I see so many wanting and looking for ways to get involved. Thank you for your help in the working with our great elders to uplift our families and our community and their outlook on being servants.
Got to love Bob Seger…..Night Moves….great memories!!
A local station is giving away tickets to his concert in Nashville. I like him but I don’t think I’ll drive 2 hours and deal with traffic. Funny, I’ll drive 3 hours to Atlanta and deal with traffic for a race… hmmm
Cool! I haven’t gotten his latest CD yet. Maybe a Christmas elf will bring it. Some young rockers and some young ministers start out as stars and end… well, poorly. Seger is still a fixture up here in Motown. He’s continued to be who he always was and that’s a good thing.
Against the Wind is one of my all-time favorite songs.
Looking forward to seeing him in Charlotte in Jan.
I am very glad he is doing “Betty Lou” but I could really do without so many ballads such as “Trying to live my life…”, “We’ve got tonight” and “Turn the page”. Anyway, it looks like a great show and since I get to see him after a break, maybe he will tweak the set list a bit.
