Well, the waiting is almost over. The BIG Game is next Saturday. After easily defeating Northwestern and Indiana, number one Ohio State and Number two Michigan will play for the Big Ten title and a spot in the National Championship game. This is the biggest rivalry in college football (and maybe in all of sports). Many fans believe that if the game is close, Michigan and Ohio State should play again for the National Championship. That’s not likely to happen, but it should.
I am a Michigan fan living right in the middle of Ohio State country (two of our elders are Ohio State grads). But it is a friendly rivalry here. The OSU fans I know give me a hard time about cheering for U of M, but they do so in a nice way. I will be proudly flying my Michigan flag next Saturday. GO BLUE!!!

In other news, Ashland High School’s football team is now 12-0 after winning last night. They now advance to the Region 6 championship game against Piqua. Go Arrows!!!

I am rooting for Michigan, because I don’t think OSU has played anyone that is that tough. Also, my Texas Tech Red Raiders played OSU at home and the fans there were mean, spit on my friends and were nasty. Not that I harbor a grudge, I just think that kind of behavior is unacceptable.
GO Michigan!
Go Blue.
I don’t know who to pull for, but I just hope it is a good game. Matt called me this morning and he has passes for us two at the Bama-Auburn game! AWESOME!

Jeff,
I will be watching the game. I am smack dab in the middle of Sooner country, so I have enjoyed this season and certainly looking forward to game. I am a Buckeye, and we are brothers, even after the game!
Go Buckeyes!!!!
I do hate to say it but the Michigan-OSU game is bigger than Alabaman and Auburn this year. That is so tough to type in (ouch!!).
I have never been an OSU fan but I suspect they will carry the day.
Shalom,
Bobby Valentine
I can feel for you brother as I am an OSU grad ’80 and live in the shadow of Ann Arbor. I was never a real fanatic about the Bucks until I moved up here. It is somehow so much more fun than ever before. Enjoy…
Preaching yesterday was fun as the football crowd showed up wearing their colors. The OSU people were also wearing smiles!!!
Patrick –
At our evening service last night, everyone was decked out in their scarlet and gray. I thought about changing my lesson from “Thanksgiving” to “Appropriate attire for Sunday evening services.”
Maize and Blue would have been much more appropriate…..
Jeff, I hope you said something to the congregation about a minister’s greatest joy is being able to preach to a bunch of people who need to repent. Maybe you can still use that line this next week.
Sorry brother. I feel your pain. The Tide lost also. Oh well………there is ALWAYS next year!
