The first new Bob Seger CD in ten years will be released September 12th! You can already pre-order it at Amazon.com. Here’s the LINK. The first single, “Wait For Me” can be purchased at iTunes, and it is well worth 99 cents. Go out and get it. It reminds me of “Against The Wind.” Now, if we only get Mr. Seger to put the rest of his library on iTunes!
From everything I’ve heard, the new CD should be great. He does a song with Kid Rock (“Real Mean Bottle”) and a song with Patty Loveless (“The Answer’s In The Question”).
All Seger fans are holding their breath, hoping that he will tour.

Yes! I love Bob Seger.
Though I’m a “ramblin’ gamblin’ man,” I won’t be heading out to the music shop “down on Main Street” for the new Seger CD. I hate to blow “against the wind,” Jeff, but I just prefer that “old time rock and roll.” After all, “rock and roll never forgets,” and neither do I. Besides, I don’t have the time. My wife and I are buying a new house and “we’ve got tonight” to do all the packing–how I hate those “night moves”! I’m sorry, but my determination is set “like a rock.” However, if Seger does tour again and I can get tickets, maybe “you’ll accompany me.”
STOP IT!!!! I’m am going to pre-order RIGHT NOW!!!! Someday, Baby!
Now, Mark — that is just a classic comment. You need to teach a class at Wayne County Community College on “How to write witty blog comments.”
“Even Now” I’m still laughing. Perhaps when you “Turn The Page” on this move, you will find that your love for Seger’s music is “Still The Same” and as you’re “Comin’ Home” from the office, you will stop and pick up his new CD. “In Your Time”, if you’re able to secure tickets to a Seger show, I’ll be a “Travelin’ Man” and come to Detroit to accompany you to the show, so that together we can “Let It Rock” as we enjoy his “Heavy Music.” If, by chance, I don’t get to see him in concert, I’m afraid it will be the “Famous Final Scene” and they will have to “Roll Me Away.”
I love that old time rock and roll…
Good to have Bobbie back…….they guy rocks!

Tom Petty has a new CD out now that is very good. It’s his third solo venture and it is as good as his other 2. Also, for those punkers out there, the New York Dolls also released a new album after 30 something years. It’s very good but maybe not for this crowd.

Bob Seger Lining Up TV Appearances for
Bob Seger is facing the promise of TV, and what it can do to help promote his forthcoming album “Face the Promise.” After an “Entertainment Tonight” segment that aired Monday (September 4th, after being bumped from September 1st), Seger has lined up a performance on NBC’s “Tonight” show with Jay Leno on September 14th, two days after “Face the Promise’s” release; Silver Bullet Band regulars Alto Reed, Chris Campbell, Craig Frost, Mark Chatfield, Shaun Murphy and Laura Creamer will be joined by drummer Steve Brewster, a Nashville session veteran who played on “Face the Promise,” for the show — Seger’s first appearance ever on “Tonight.” Seger is also scheduled to go on the syndicated program “The View” on September 28th and is in discussions for an appearance on CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman.” There are also rumors of a CMT “Crossroads” episode that would pair Seger with an admirer from the country music world, but no details have been announced yet. We’re also still waiting for a firm announcement of a Seger tour, which is expected to come soon. “Face the Promise” is the Detroit rocker’s first album of all-new material in 11 years.
Just heard the whole album. Sounds good. A few songs really stood out however it is a short album – only about 50 min. by my count.
Looking forward to jamming to it more and seeing what other gems I can discover.
We refered to Seager as “Gandi” when I was in High School.
