After skipping last season over a stupid labor dispute, professional hockey is back. The Red Wings look pretty good this year (although I’m not sure about the goalie situation). It sure would be nice to see the Stanley Cup back in Detroit, where it belongs.
The fans in the picture above paid $54 each for standing room only tickets to last night’s game. They don’t call Detroit “Hockeytown” for nothing!
Any other hockey fans among the (very) few who read my blog?

Hockey is not the sport of preference down here, brother!
It’s the gridion that rules, as you well remember. But hey, tell the hockey folks to knock themselves out!

This Wisconsin girl likes hockey! Though I couldn’t tell you one single hockey player’s name…save Gretsky. I like watching sports, I just don’t know who is playing half the time. Does that make me a pseudo-fan?
Can we cancel hockey again? It was very nice last year not having Sportscenter ruined every few minutes by hockey highlights…
To me, hockey is like swimming and diving. I know its out there, and there are people who dedicate their lives to it, but seeing it on TV every four years or so is plenty.
Maybe we can just cancel hockey for three years at a time.
I don’t normally read your blog (I had just clicked the “next blog” button) but I do enjoy hockey. Unfortunately I won’t likely be watching any for a while… it’s not really the most popular sport in Thailand. However, the Bangkok Post does feature a very small article most days now – so that’s a good thing.
Enjoy this hockey season!
