It is just heartbreaking to see what’s happening in New Orleans and Mississippi. I can’t even imagine what those people are going through — to have your life just completely turned upside down. To lose everything and have no where to live. May God be merciful and may He intervene in a powerful way.
Last night my son let us know that he wants to donate his allowance for September to help the hurricane victims — he decided to do this completely on his own, we had not mentioned it (but he and I have been praying for the hurricane victims each night). My daughter decided to follow his example. One of our deacons at church suggested that we take a big chunk (if not all) of the money that’s in our building fund and use it to help out.

Seeing that type of devistation makes you really aware that maybe we don’t “need” a few things we thought we did. From Church buildings to vacations to computer networks. We have a lot of refugees here and are trying to help as best we can.
God Bless,
Ed
When a tornado wiped out Moore, OK several years ago, Moore First Baptist took about half million dollars (all of their building fund) and gave it away to the people in the neighborhood who lost everything.
In just a few years their building fund was fully reloaded and their new building was finished.
Any need to wonder who, in that community, the people think of when they think of God?
Nice post. I hope you guys give it all away.
