My kids and I showing off our awards from the Balloonfest races here in Ashland. My daughter got 4th place in the 1-mile Fun Run, finishing in 9 minutes and 3 seconds — she missed out on 3rd place and a medal by about 7 seconds. My son and I ran the 5K and we both got 3rd place in our age groups. He beat me by about 5 seconds. It was a lot of fun. And I’m encouraged that my kids seem to like running. I’ll post some pictures from Balloonfest soon. 
Oh, please do post pictures from Balloonfest. I had a good time with my family in Tawas…but I truly missed seeing the balloons this year!
That sounds like fun. I’m pretty sure my two four-year-old boys can outrun me. They are just full of energy. I’m trying to get back there myself!
Kirsten, Glad you had a nice time with your family, but we missed you at the fireworks! I will post those pics as soon as I can — I got some good ones when the balloons came right over our house.
Kevin — I was surprised at how well my son did (he’s 10 years old). He didn’t do very much running before the race. I tried to catch him at the end so that we could finish together, but I couldn’t.
