Written by I currently reading Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper. It is really challenging me. I’ve been led to see how I get caught up in so many trivial things that, in the end, are just meaningless. It has helped me to see how fleeting this life really is and why it is so important to die to self (notice the importance Jesus places on that). Yes, I’ll still watch sports, follow politics, and play the occasional video game. But I now see those things for what they are — meaningless, insignigicant distractions from the Kingdom of God.
I’ll be going on my annual week-long sabbatical in a few weeks, and I will likely spend a lot of that solitary time reflecting on and praying about this.
